My name is Professor Jakeway, and I am a Senior Lecturer for German, Director of the German Business Certificate, German Advisor, German Coordinator and I am the Director of the German American Exchange Internship Program (Paid Internships for German Majors in Germany over the Summer Break). I just won the full-time lecturer award for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Winner for Full-Time lecturer award May 2020. I was born in Germany, received a Diploma in Business and Banking at a German university and worked for 14 years in the Landeskreditbank Baden-Wuerttemberg in a manager position. I was responsible for controlling and risk management. In 2000 I moved with my husband (Miami of Ohio graduate) and our two children to North Carolina. I started my own business for teaching German language and culture, received a Masters’ in Arts and teaching in German from UNC Charlotte and later became a senior lecturer here at UNC Charlotte. I am the German coordinator, advisor, and Director of the Business certificate in German. I love to be out on our boat on Lake Norman, swim in our pool and play tennis.
