Placement Test Information
Why?
- To remove your major's language requirement by showing proficiency in a given language (to place out of the language requirement). To do this, you must come to the Language Resource Center on one of the days/times below to take a proctored computerized test in either French, German, or Spanish. The test costs $10.00 and must be paid for at the time you take the test with a credit card. No cash is accepted.
Students should not take the placement test in a language they have not studied. They may not take the official placement exam proctored in the Language Resource Center more than twice. There is no placement test for English. Students whose native language is NOT English may fill out the form, PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATION FOR LANGUAGES NOT TESTED AT UNC CHARLOTTE. For more information, see: Proficiency Requirement.
