Paris is the perfect place to explore 2000+ years of French civilization. In this course you will discover the city's Gallo-Roman past, its medieval history, and the age of the Sun King (Versailles). You will also wander the grand boulevards of Paris, stroll down the Champs-Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe, visit the Louvre and Napoleon's tomb, and learn about key historical figures and events that have shaped France's capital and its people. Today, the "City of Lights" is a multicultural metropolis that is home to populations from all around the globe. You will visit buildings and memorials that reflect France's relationship with its former colonies. You will gain a fuller appreciation of France's rural roots, its mouth-watering regional specialties, and the importance of its agricultural sector through a visit to the Salon de l'Agriculture (Spring Break only). And because no visit to Paris would be complete without experiencing the French joie de vivre, the program includes a dinner cruise on the Seine, a fashion show, and a chance to practice your soccer kicks at the Stade de France. If you want to spend spring break or fall break doing something thrilling with new-found friends and earn 3 hours of credit for a W course, then this course is for you.
